Blown-In Insulation Technician
Wage: $25.00 per hour

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Blown-In Insulation Technician. This position is focused on learning and applying modern insulation practices that improve the energy efficiency, comfort, and overall performance of residential and commercial buildings.

The successful candidate will receive hands-on training in insulation systems, building science, equipment operation, ventilation requirements, air sealing, and proper installation techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate specialized blown-in insulation equipment and related tools

• Assess work areas and determine appropriate insulation coverage and installation requirements

• Install blown-in insulation in attics, walls, and other building areas

• Learn proper insulation depths, densities, coverage rates, and application techniques

• Develop an understanding of R-values, heat loss, air movement, and building energy efficiency

• Identify areas where air sealing or insulation improvements may increase building performance

• Understand proper attic ventilation and moisture-control principles

• Follow manufacturer specifications and established installation procedures

• Perform basic equipment inspections and maintenance

• Document completed work and material usage

• Maintain safe, clean, and professional work areas

• Work alongside other technicians and construction professionals on residential and commercial projects

Qualifications

• Interest in construction, building science, energy efficiency, or skilled trades

• Willingness to learn technical insulation and building-envelope systems

• Reliable and able to work independently as training progresses

• Comfortable working in attics and other building spaces

• Valid driver's licence preferred

• Previous construction or insulation experience is an asset but is not required
